Este unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti si mai apreciati actori britanici. A debutat in West End in anul 1962 si a obtinut premiul criticii în 1963 pentru ’Cel mai promitãtor actor’ in The Dwarfs. A mai jucat în piese de teatru precum The Caretaken, Shadow of a Gunman, Travesties pentru Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), In the Country. In anul 2000 a jucat in piesa londoneza din West End Krapp’s Last Tape.

eu nu l-am vazut in atatea filme, dar mi-a placut cum a jucat in toate in care l-am vazut: Elephant Man, 1984 si in recentul Dogville (vocea povestitorului)

100 de filme si unde mai pui ca fost nominalizat la oscar de doua ori, a castigat Golden Globe de 3 ori si cred ca ar fi meritat de 10 ori pe atat.

Intr-adevar, john hurt este un actor de marca. Recunosc ca l-am "descoperit" relativ recent, vizionand filmul 1984 in care a detinut rolul principal si pe care l-a intrpretat ireprosabil. Mi-a placut mult si recomand filmul tuturor celor care apreciaza o opera vizionara de mare finete, deasememea si cartea lui George Orwell dupa care a fost facut filmul. Cat despre John hurt n-am ce spune mai mult decat ca este un actor de geniu, cu o intelegere adanca a rolurilor care merita titlul de Sir primit de curand.
