Forest Whitaker a câstigat recunoasterea internationala odata cu rolul Jody, soldatul/ostatic din filmul lui Neil Jordan, The Crying Game (1992), câstigator al unui Oscar. În 1988, Whitaker a fost nominalizat la Golden Globe si a fost recunoscut ca cel mai bun actor la Cannes, pentru rolul legendei jazzului, Charlie Parker, din filmul lui clint Eastwood, "Bird".

Este un actor foarte talentant. Personal, mi se pare ca il prind foarte bine dramele.
