Acestia sunt rugati sa-si continue dezbaterile de tip Avatar vs Titanic aici pe forumul Cinemagia.

folosesc un copy/paste pentru a-i invita pe cei din urma sa participe pe site-ul MUBI (fostul The AUTEURS ) , macar la vizionarea unora din regizori/filme dispuse in match-uri si disponibile multe din ele pe Youtube daca nu si la vot

A quick run-down of the basics:
We’ve picked 128 directors. These directors are playing against each other in single elimination match-ups.


Each director has a manager, who will select 1 different film for each match to represent their director. Matches will be decided by users/participants’ voting preferences for one film paired against another. Each match has been assigned a date that it will occur on.

To participate all you need do is to have seen both films in each pairing to give your preference and to show up at the voting topic for that pairing, when it opens, to cast your vote. You cannot vote if you have only seen one film in the pairing. That is why we set aside some time before the matches kick off for viewing. Comments and explanations for the votes are welcome and encouraged, but not obligatory.

The purpose of this is to encourage the discovery of hidden treasures, promote neglected directors, question received wisdom, and also the fun of seeing directors – whether they be canonised masters or lesser known masters of equal ability – battle it out against each other.

So any enthusiasts do come on board. Look for the directors’ cup threads- some are for matches and voting, others with results and tables, others for general comments, others for dicussion

oarecum surprinzator, Bill Douglas trece mai departe

2 observatii :
- cu linkul insert "HERE " se poate ajunge la topicul dedicat fiecarui match de pana acum
- marea majoritate a filmelor sunt disponibile pe ceva numit iuutub ( cei interesati se vor convinge...)

Daca e sa las o remarca personala pt mine filmele lui Hiroshi Shimizu, Rene Laloux sau Agnes Varda prezente in acest Directors` Cup al cinefililor - au fost o adevarata revelatie

De luni incolo va incepe runda 1 - partea a 2-a cu primul meci :
