La un teatru de revista local se fac repetitii pentru spectacolul "Ah! les belles bacchantes...". Intrigat de titlu, comisarul Michel Leboeuf decide sa desfasoare personal o ancheta pentru a verifica decadenta reprezentatiilor. Amestecandu-se printre actori, el va asista la un adevarat haos, pe masura ce repetitiile sunt incurcate pe rand ba de un instalator aflat acolo…
