The man who had it built: Edmond Van Eetvelde, a senior civil servant whose career is on the rise. To build his house, Van Eetvelde chose Victor Horta, a young avant-garde architect, one of the founders of the Art Nouveau movement.

The film, directed by Stefan Cornic, tells the story of the current and past renovation projects. It looks back at the many transformations and events the building has hosted since its inauguration for the 1900 Universal Exhibition. The building is scheduled to reopen in three stages: during the 2024 Olympic Games, when it will host fencing and taekwondo competitions in the nave; in 2025, when the Réunion des musées nationaux galleries will open to the general public; and in 2026, when the Palais de la Découverte will unveil its new exhibition spaces.

He started out as a landscape painter, but became world famous as a painter of abstract works. Mondrian tried to depict the world behind the visible world. He wanted to create "universal", harmonic art that would form the basis for a better world. His absolute masterpiece is ‘Victory Boogiewoogie’ the painting he worked on in New York until he died in 1944. Today it is known as the Night Watch of the twentieth century.

Even if we cannot call him the first Impressionist, his leading role in the history of modern art must be emphasised. And he did: A great master ahead of his time, a world famous painter even. In 1949, when he was still unknown and penniless, he made "Child, Church, Animal". Actually nothing is known about the construction of this painting. Not more than you can discover at first sight. To find out more, we have to take a closer look at the work using a microscope. It seems as if the work consists of several layers.

His work, more closely linked to emotions than to realism, is impossible to classify. Leonardo is recognised as perhaps the greatest painter and sculptor of all time but there was no end to his talents. This film tells his life story and expands on Leonardo the visionary and inventor from the place where he lived out his final years at Château du Clos Lucé in France, concluding that Leonardo da Vinci was perhaps the very embodiment of the spirit of the Renaissance.

An ambitious project launched by American expatriates John and Cynthia Hardy. Manet's portraiture has never been the subject of an exhibition, although it represents around half of his artistic output. He painted his family, friends and the literary, political and artistic figures of the day, bringing to life not only his subjects but also Parisian society.
