"Great films can't be measured scientifically because greatness is extremely subjective. The artistic greatness of films (and other works of art) can never be rated or quantified, although critics, reviewers, and fans persistently make ten best lists, hundred best lists, all-time greatest lists, awards lists, and generate results of polls. There is no accepted standard for rating cinematic works - there are 4-star and 5-star scales, 1-10 and percentage ratings, letter grades, fresh/rotten tomatoes meters, and thumbs up/down judgments, to name a few. These only confuse the issue."
Am o revista de cinema(revista romaneasca, nu mele e mai putim important) de prin 2002, unde este publicat un sondaj facut de revista "Sight and Sound" in legatura cu cele mai buna filme si cei mai mari regizori...Topul este alcatuit de critci si de regizori.La filme,din p.d.v. al criticilor, pe primele trei locuri, in ordine descrescatoare, se situeaza "La regle du jeu", "Vertigo" si "Citizen Kane".Langa , este sondajul realizat in randul regizorilor.La filme, tot in ordine descrescatoare, se situeaza filmele "8 1/2", "The Godfather I & II" si Citizen Kane".
Evident ca apar intrebarile de genul "care/cati regizori/critici au fost intervievati".Si evident ca este vorba si de gustul fiecaruia in parte, daca nu ai fi de acord cu acest top (si ai avea evident si o argumentare) nu ar fi absolut nici o problema.Dar nu poti spune ca acest top este masluit, facut de "cei multi", de necunoscatori.
