Darth Imperius taught Darth Sidious the ancient black arts of the Sith Order. Darth Sidious eventually betrayed and destroyed Darth Imperius.

Dantius is Palpatine's firt name.

Palpatine used a Sith technique that allows him to mask his Force powers from the Jedi. The Jedi have no way to penetrate this deception.

Palpatine never took a wife, but he did have many mistresses.

Palpatine believed that if he were to have children that they would be a threat to him. Palpatine made sure that none of his mistresses ever gave birth.

Palpatine is greater than Yoda. As the events of Episode 3 proved, Palpatine was probably the most powerful Force user the galaxy had ever seen.

1. Darth Voltres (also known as Darth Venom) betrayed Sidious by taking on several apprentices. Sidious destroyed Voltres by cutting Voltres in half from his head to his torso. 2. Darth Maul 3. Darth Rage was killed in a Force avalanche by Plo Koon. 4. Darth Tyranus (also known as Count Dooku) 5. Darth Vader (also known as Anakin Skywalker)

Palpatine has a light saber. Palpatine is so skilled with his saber that he can move it so fast that you can barely see the blade.
