Site-ul BBC a publicat o listă a celor mai bune 100 de comedii din toate timpurile, iar locul întâi i-a revenit lui Some Like It Hot, cu Marilyn Monroe, lansat în 1959 şi regizat de Billy Wilder. Puţine dintre aceste titluri au fost produse după anul 2000 (printre ele se află Zoolander, dar şi The Royal Tenenbaums).

Comedia cel mai bine plasată a secolului este Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (locul 33). Cel mai vechi film din listă este Safety Last! (1923), aflat pe locul 83, iar cel mai recent Toni Erdmann (2016), aflat pe 59.
