As a horror film, it’s one of the best I’ve seen in years. Just look at the the nail marks on my seat. As an indie, it’s a manual of what to do to make it to the next level of cash and audience. Just look at where it’s in the damn imdb top 250. And all those awards and noms. A film on jazz. JAZZ ffs ! As a *film* it’s sometimes out-of-tune. Or on auto-tune. Or just bullshitin’. But it never fails to keep you there, stinging the ideals, energies and illusions that make you come up with that “Let’s do this!” face in the mirror at morning time.
