Prozac Nation a film about the United States of Depression; a caring yet not admitting she's pampering mother (Jessica Lange); a troubled teenager (the shorty alien faced Cristina Ricci) an absent father (whatever his name was) and Prozac. A minor league Garden State in a sense that they're both playing in the same ballpark, the difference being that whereas Zach Braff character's looked like he really lived in a state of numbness (actually it was just New Jersey*), the troubled Cristina Ricci looks like a spoiled brat who'd have fits cuz her opinion piece just wouldn't come out properly. You know, that kind of girl who misses her absent father and despises her mother (that's some serious psychological thinking going on here, don't y'all think), disgruntled at the world and who seeks salvation in Adam Sandler's arms. Gimme a fucking break. What serious film-maker casts Adam Sandler. Now don't get me wrong. The film has its own moments, but usually these only occur thanx to Jessica lange and her ability to enliven the act. As for Cristina Ricci, then again, drop that fucking alien face, stop scaring me.
