Into The West - Interpretation ...
In loc sa invatz aseara am stat shi am comentat versurile la inca o melode super de pe coloana sonora Return Of The King!...
Lay down your sweet and weary head
Night is falling, you've come to journey's end
We've just travelled with Frodo through such a long journey, and at the end of it he is tired. And also relieved. And sad

. It's the end of the journey (one that we've all been living for 3 years). Fuck this is the end ... the only thing we wait 4 is that Extended Edition!
Sleep now, and dream-of the ones who came before
They are calling from across a distant shore
Memories of heroes – those in the old tales. All of them are across that sea, and Frodo is going to join them finally. It makes me think of Theoden's last words: "I go to my fathers in who's company i will not feel shame" - Theoden - Rulzzzzz la faza asta ...
Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away.
Safe in my arms. You're only sleepingThis line is touching simply because of the tenderness that flows through it. SamWise cries when he is abandoned by Gandalf : "Farewell my brave hobbits!" and Frodo : "Good bye Sam!" .... dar s-ar putea adauga shi finalu' :"Your part in this tale Sam is not OVER!" - mi s-a zbarlit parul pe mine ...
What can you see on the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
This is the line that did it for me. I have to confess I cried here.
This line is woven so intrinsically into the books – the sea-longing of the Elves. just like Legolas the son of king Thranduil is overwhelmed by the sea ... so are all elves ...and thus Frodo's place belongs with the elder-people... o chestie subliniata de Aragorn in final : "My friends! ... YOU bow to NOONE!"
Across the sea, a pale moon rises.
The ships have come to carry you home.
The word ‘home’ is interesting. It’s so comforting. Yet we know it’s not Frodo’s real home. It’s also sad because he can no longer look on the Shire as his real home. But beyond the sea there is this place where he will always be happy. "We set out to save the shire ... and we did ... BUT NOT FOR ME!"
And all will turn to silver glass. A light on the water
All souls pass.
Hope fades into the world of night.
Through shadows falling, out of memory and time.
Don't say we have come now to the end.
White shores are calling. You and I will meet again. "Thus all the members of the fellowship were eternally bound! "
And I suppose it’s the finality of it all that gets me. We all talked about how sad it would be when the trilogy is finally over. For me, this song captures that feeling precisely.
There’s also something else I noticed that made it all come together. “May It Be” I always thought of as something Galadriel would say to Frodo. “Gollum’s Song” is from Gollum to himself, obviously. And “Into the West” strikes me as one of the Valar – Elbereth perhaps – calling to Frodo to come to her. The sound and quality of each voice suited each theme.
I thought this last song was better than the first two.
