Messenger

Miercuri, a zis Pauline sa-i spui lu Corinka sa deschida un topic la Cafenea in care sa scriem numai in engleza si franceza.

ATENTIE ! Do not attempt to contact Pauline by yourself !

Cine are de transmis un mesaj pt Pauline ia legatura cu Miercuri sau Corinka, iar ele imi vor livra mesajul mie, care voi inmana mesajul lui Pauline scris pe nisip, pe o tipsie de aur.

Daca veti incerca sa comunicati direct cu EA, veti fi aspru pedepsiti ! :P

Sihaya 24 Jun 2009 14:32

Sihaya 24 Jun 2009 15:40

Si cum sa ne dam seama care.i unu' si care.i altu' ? K asta cam suna a discriminare. I do not feel so english proficient. I do not dare throw the first stone!

Ambra Blu 24 Jun 2009 15:43

its easy, love: all ya hafta do is compare 'on this day' and 'in this day' and pick the correct form

paul_aramis 24 Jun 2009 15:50

everybody can prove his/her proficiency with a TOEFL or a Cambridge certificate. A grade (academic, for Cambridge ) or 800 points (for TOEFL) or above should be the only one accepted.

Sihaya 24 Jun 2009 15:51

Oh, I don't know. Let's see...

IN THIS DAY and age = in this modern times

ON THIS DAY = (of time) exactly at; during this day

Now, you pick the correct one, and let me know: did I pass... ?

Ambra Blu 24 Jun 2009 15:52

@paul_aranis:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=word

'"Word?" ("You speak the truth?") '

paul_aramis 24 Jun 2009 16:09

this is not a urban/modern expression!

usually, when you use it, it is followed by an exclamation mark, not by question mark.

Ambra Blu 24 Jun 2009 16:10

come again

paul_aramis 24 Jun 2009 16:13

got it now! and yes, I am serious. as much as you were, 3 messages before (or after) mine ;)

ma friend, i am afraid you're wrong:

"Word" is the shortened form of the phrase: "my word is my bond" which was originated by inmates in U.S. prisons. The longer phrase was shortened to "word is bond" before becoming "word," which is most commonly used. It basically means "truth." Or "to speak the truth."
"Yo, I fucked twelve bitches last night."
"Word?" ("You speak the truth?") = you think?
"Word." ("I speak the truth.")

miercuri 24 Jun 2009 16:18

word?

corinka 24 Jun 2009 16:20

This thread is for Pauline's messages from "the other side".

sorry, ultimul off-topic aici. pe la noi se spune (când vine vorba de o înţelegere):
- dacă zic/zici o vorbă, apăi vorbă să fie!
şi se răspunde cu:
- vorbă

Ambra Blu 24 Jun 2009 17:07

la noi cu 'vorbe' :-@

paul_aramis 24 Jun 2009 17:08

hai că ne înţelegem :-bd

sorry!
