And I suppose it’s the finality of it all that gets me. We all talked about how sad it would be when the trilogy is finally over. For me, this song captures that feeling precisely.

There’s also something else I noticed that made it all come together. “May It Be” I always thought of as something Galadriel would say to Frodo. “Gollum’s Song” is from Gollum to himself, obviously. And “Into the West” strikes me as one of the Valar – Elbereth perhaps – calling to Frodo to come to her. The sound and quality of each voice suited each theme.

I thought this last song was better than the first two.
