Intra timp comunitatea internationala a confirmat prezenta satelitului pe orbita. Reactia nu s-a lasat asteptata si e una foarte dura: Coreea de Sud a decis oprirea operatiilor in zona industriala Kaesong. Peste 50.000 de nord coreeni erau folositi ca mana de lucru ieftina de companii sud coreene in acest complex, aflat la granita, pe partea Coreei comuniste. Era o sursa foarte importanta de profit pentru ambele tari, pierderile estimate sunt de sute de milioane de dolari. Dincolo de implicatiile financiare si cele sociale sunt importante. Zecile de mii de nord coreeni care lucrau acolo aveau ocazia sa vada cu ochii lor lucruri care expuneau minciunile din propaganda oficiala, de exemplu calitatea echipamentelor folosite de firmele sud coreene care ii angajau.

Un alt exemplu a suprarealismului din aceasta tara: savantii care au cotribuit la lansarea satelitului in spatiu au fost recompensati de stat cu......... o iesire la patinoar!! :)) Iar televiziunea nationala a fost prezenta acolo ca sa filmeze cum isi puneau patinele si apoi se clatinau pe gheata, aparent ametiti de onoarea care li se face.

Astazi incepe congresul al VII-lea al Partidului Comunist Nord-Coreean, un eveniment istoric avand in vedere ca cel precedent a avut loc in 1980. Congresul e un indiciu in plus ca balanta puterii se schimba de la armata spre partid. Ca intotdeauna cand vine vorba de Coreea de Nord, nu se stie exact dinainte ce anume se va dezbate in cadrul congresului. Speculatiile spun ca Kim Jong Un isi va impune si mai multi oameni in pozitii cheie si va da directiile de dezvoltare pentru viitor.
